This would be a great book for anyone who likes sloths. Very well-written and informative. I would say this would be better for older kids, as it has quite a bit of detail, younger kids might not follow as long. The pictures were clear and allowed you to see what the sloth looked like after the description. The quiz and word search was a fun ending to the book.

For several years I wrote narrative nonfiction for an educational publisher, so I like to keep up with the genre. I also know the value of books like The Ultimate Sloth in the classroom and for teachers and young imaginations.
First educational value: Young students have to write reports. The internet is laden with misinformation. Books like Sloth provide verifiable information, also questions for teachers–as well as information they probably don’t know, allowing kids and teachers to learn together!
These books also feed young imaginations with the wonder–not of AI– but of NI, Nature’s Intelligence. How wonderful to learn that prehistoric sloths stood 6 feet tall. How wonderful to trigger more questions about life on earth long before we homo sapiens existed.
So great job, great read!
