  1. Shannon Karasti

I thought that this was a really cute book for super young readers! All of the pictures of otters were adorable and accurate, and the author perfectly sprinkled in cartoon otters with the real otters without it taking away from the book.

All of the content was great, and I have two things to say about it. It was perfect how the author included all of the interesting and relevant facts about otters, however I thought that the book was organized a little weird. By this I mean I didn’t feel or see any transitions from one point to the other, and it made the reading flow of this book not as good as it could have been. Lastly, I thought that it was a really smart choice to make this book interactive. It helps super young readers apply what they learn, helping it to solidify in their memories better. Although, I would highly recommend that parents read this with their little ones. This is because some of the interactive bits might be confusing to kids, or they might need a little assistance in being able to do said activities. But, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It’s a good thing in the case, actually, because it helps to promote parents spending time with their kids.

  10. Jennifer Jones

This book was adorable with Otis and all the cute otter pictures. I love that it is interactive while giving basic information on the otters for small children. Finding the path to where the otter lives and picking out what they eat helps to keep kids engaged while learning about animals. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

My grandson and I read this book together. It was really fun to watch him answer the questions that were posed within the book. They were simple, but for young children this book provided a some good little teaching moments.

Full color high quality pictures and images throughout to help keep a child interested and excited to learn. While some of the activities or questions seem simple, they all combine to reinforce the information and insure that interested kiddos remember the facts long after they put down the book.
