Bellanova Books started in 2009 in Melbourne, Australia, with a simple idea: kids learn best when facts are fun. What began as one author writing animal and nature books has grown into a small, independent publishing house — still proudly small, still proudly independent. Now, we have authors working around the world — from the Canary Islands to Germany, the UK and beyond. Our books have now been translated into nearly a dozen different languages.
What we make
We write educational books for curious minds of all ages — animal facts, nature guides, and the kind of trivia that makes you want to read just one more page. Every book is designed to spark real curiosity, whether that’s a five-year-old learning their first facts about sharks or an adult planning their next adventure.
We believe learning shouldn’t feel like homework. So our books are packed with real photos, surprising facts, and just enough humor to keep readers turning pages — without losing the substance that makes them worth picking up in the first place.
Going global
What started as English-language books for readers in the US, UK, Australia, and beyond has grown into something bigger. Jenny’s partner, Philipp Goldmann, joined Bellanova to start translating titles into German — and that’s just the beginning. We’re working with independent translators in Spanish, French, Italian and more to bring our books to even more readers, in even more languages, in the years ahead.

Every book you buy directly from us — rather than through a marketplace — goes further toward keeping an independent publisher doing what we love: making good books for curious people. We’re not a big publishing house, and we don’t want to be. We’re a small team that cares about getting the facts right, the design beautiful, and the reading experience actually enjoyable.
