Real Reviews

“Very informative read and I learned so much. The quiz and puzzle section seemed appropriate for kids studying geography at high school. The good and bad of volcanoes section changes the readers’ potential negative view of the subject by seeing they are not just a negative force within our ecosystems but are a complex contributing force of nature. The formatting at the beginning of the book is a little off-putting although it improves after a couple of pages” Verified review, USA

“Volcanos have always fascinated me and this book helped me more fully understand their origin and the differences between the three major types of volcanoes. I highly recommend this book.” – Verified review, USA

“My son enjoyed every page and loved the vivid colors for each of the volcanoes. I especially loved the facts and reminded me a lot of past science classes.” – Maximilian, USA

“I have always loved volcanoes, but have never known much about them. This book did a great job of explaining things and does so in a nice and easy-to-follow way. I am also very impressed with the pictures throughout the book. Would recommend” – Verified review, UK

  1. Dr AJ

This author is a new discovery for me, but I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series.

Almost every page has beautiful photographs, key facts and fun facts. There are lots of helpful full-color diagrams throughout. Terminology is explained clearly, but there is enough detailed information for a wide age range of kids to benefit.

A lovely bonus is the puzzles, quizzes and picture tests at the end.

This would be perfect for any age child, probably up to teens, doing a project on volcanoes, or who is just interested. Because of the pictures and activities, it would also be great for long journeys/flights. You can see the knowledge and passion of the author, who has really thought out the contents and design.

    Highly recommended!

  2. Bloominglovely

Great photos. Very educational, including lots of fun facts, this book would suit a range of ages. And it is a must-buy for any student doing a report on Volcanoes! Highly recommended.

  3. MountGote

This was a very enjoyable and educational book. There were many wonderful photographs which enhanced my enjoyment of the book.

This was a relatively quick read and very understandable. I found myself calling family members over to see the photos and to share some of the facts, which I had just learned about volcanoes.

Volcanos have always fascinated me and this book helped me more fully understand their origin and the differences between the three major types of volcanoes. I highly recommend this book.

  4. TRP

This short book is packed with facts and well selected pictures and gives a great overview about volcanoes – the different types, how they are made, where they occur. The pictures are really helpful and extremely complete. The entire thing is well put together. Recommended.

  6. Awesome Power

Whenever an awesome earthly shakeup occurs, it moves me nearer to spiritual beliefs. If volcanoes, earthquakes, instant flooding, fire, and brimstone don’t make you believe in something more than oneself, then I don’t know what it’d take.
