What a very cute book, with a lot of the most interesting concepts about bees. Filled with things I honestly never knew about bees, like worker bees are all female and the men are the drones, these are the questions my kids ask at random that I usually can’t answer and now I can. This is presented with brightly colored pictures of different bees in a way that will definitely entice young readers with a curious mind for nature and insects. Although I do need to point out that it does cover bees mating rituals, just so you know in case you are a parent or teacher of a child that is not ready to get into the “how” of it all. I recommend this for parents or teachers who have kids that love bugs.

I absolutely loved reading this book; it would make a wonderful present for kids. Even though it’s a children’s book, adults like me can also benefit from it as we get to learn more about various kinds of bees. Bees have always fascinated me, and this book taught me about different types of bees, including honeybees and blue carpenter bees. I was unaware of other solitary bees until I read this book.

My favourite bee species is the black native Australian bee, which is not mentioned in the book. It is tiny and harmless, but it creates its own honey and can live in any wooden environment (as I have observed in my own backyard).

The book also has fun games and activities at the end that can help children test their newly acquired knowledge.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about bees.

My kids and myself really enjoyed this book. They love bees and know a lot of info, but this book taught them so much more. It would be a perfect companion for a mini unit for our homeschool

While this book about bees is for children, I found it very informative and I learned more about bees than I have during my first 50 years of life. Well-written and easy to understand. The book teaches about the different Bee species as well as their anatomy and how the process of pollinations occurs. The pictures and diagrams in the book make it very easy to follow along and learn. I highly recommend this book for kids 9 yo and up and for adults. I learned a lot. Recommend checking it out for sure.
